Dr. Pamela Ann Weber, M.D.

suffolk county ophthalmologist, dr pamela ann weber mdA graduate of McGill University, Montreal, Pamela Ann Weber, M.D. went on to Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Weber completed her Post-Doctoral training as a Resident in Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, NY. She completed her Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease & Surgery at Schepens Eye Institute, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Harvard University in Boston.

Dr. Pamela Weber is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Weber has a special interest in Retinopathy of Prematurity and has participated in National Institute of Health funded multicenter studies including ETROP (Early Treatment of Retinopathy) and STOP-ROP (Supplemental Therapeutic Oxygen for Prethreshold Retinopathy of Prematurity). She served on the Executive Committee and the Outcomes Committee for STOP-ROP.

Dr. Weber has additionally been involved in national studies for diabetes, AIDS and macular degeneration. She is an Assistant Professor at SUNY Stony Brook. Currently, she is involved in LEVEL which is a multicenter study sponsored by Pfizer and OSI/Eyetech looking at the role of induction maintenance in wet macular degeneration. She is a consultant for OSI/Eyetech, Pfizer, Estee Lauder and Talia Technology.


 

Our Staff

Our staff is friendly and educated, and our office is comfortable and can help you with most of your questions including scheduling, directions, insurance, as well as many other issues.

James Soque is our technician and photographer. He is a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant since 2002. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. His research background includes retinoblastoma, and retinopathy of prematurity. Memberships: Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, The Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology, and The Ophthalmic Photographers Society. He is the Study Center Coordinator for LEVEL. He is also the certified FA and ICG photographer for the RISE Study.

Chery Behrendt is our office manager, surgical coordinator and billing representative. She is also an Ophthalmic Assistant and the Study Center Coordinator for ETROP.

Lucy Carucci is our Front Desk Supervisor, Ophthalmic Assistant, Laser Surgery Coordinator, and Macugen, Lucentis, and Avastin Specialist. She is also the Certified Center Coordinator for the RISE Study.

Eileen Magdits is our billing specialist.

Christine Verdone is our front desk receptionist.

Anne Marie Smykowski is our technician and photographer. She is a certified ophthalmic assistant with over 10 years experience and is also certified in Visual Acuity for the RISE Study.
